When Zlatan Ibrahimovic left the LA Galaxy, they automatically thought of Javier Hernandez to be their replacement. The Mexican forward was expected to be the star of the team and thereby generate millions of dollars in marketing. None of that happened and Chicharito Hernandez suffered such a devaluation of his value as a player that he not only generated losses for the LA Galaxy but also for him for the future.
Although Javier Hernandez has one of the highest salaries in the MLS, his market value has fallen markedly in the last year due to his poor performance. When he arrived at LA Galaxy, his value was estimated to be close to $ 10 million or that at least was what LA Galaxy paid to Sevilla for Hernandez.
Today things seem to be completely different and Chicharito Hernandez has an estimated value of $ 5 or $ 6 million dollars. The LA Galaxy forward is believed to have devalued 30% from his last market value. It's a huge loss for a player of that level in just one year. The only advantage for Hernandez is that he still has a millionaire contract with LA Galaxy and there are still 3 years left on it.
This millionaire devaluation puts LA Galaxy in a very unfavorable situation since if they want to sell it they will lose a lot of money compared to what they invested and if they stay with Chicharito Hernandez and continue with that weak level they will have to pay him a millionaire salary. Next season is the key for Chicharito Hernandez if he wants to assert his star spot in MLS.
