The 44-year-old Argentine coach, Santiago Solari has just become the new coach of Club America for the following 2021 tournament, after having been in charge of Real Madrid for a few months without much success. Due to the global crisis due to the pandemic, the economy of Club America has been greatly affected, that is why they only have a budget of 2 million dollars a year for the former coach of Cruz Azul, Robert Dante Siboldi.
Those same two million were Miguel Herrera´s salary, however the negotiations with the Uruguayan fell apart. In December 2018 to March 2019, Santiago Solari was Real Madrid's coach replacing Julen Lopetegui and he did so, with the salary he already had when he directed the subsidiary in Castilla, which was around 300 thousand euros per month.
So that, the four months that he was in charge of the team, he earned an amount of 1.2 million euros, something very far from the 4.4 million euros that he could have earned, if he completed the year with the club. Solari was well below the salaries of Julen Lopetegui, who had 6 million and the current coach Zinedine Zidane, who earned 7 million euros in that time.
On the other hand, Santiago Solari is one of the cheapest trainers on the market, since international trainers such as Marcelo Gallardo or Ricardo Gareca from Peru, are too expensive or at least more than the current Argentine price. From that situation, we can deduce that if America's budget is 2 million dollars, which is what Herrera earned and that was what they offered to Siboldi, surely Solari's offer did not go much out of that budget, so apparently the Club America would have paid around 3.5 million dollars for the Argentine coach.
