Javier Eduardo López, commonly known as Chofis, won’t continue at Chivas. The offensive midfielder was axed of the squad in a decision made by head coach Víctor Vucetich and sport adviser Ricardo Peláez. Both agreed that due to his constant undisciplined acts, he shouldn’t continue at the team.

Aftet that, López started to look for a team to play at and hasn’t yet found one. At his 26 years there are many clubs interested on him. Everyone considers him a good player but the problem is what happens off the field. Matías Almeyda, who knows him for his pass through Chivas, could give him a second chance.

Almeyda is coaching San Jose Earthquake MLS side since January 2019, after he left Chivas. The Argentinian coach thinks that Chofis could be a great signing for his team and is trying to make the transfer taking advantage of his good relationship with the Rebaño Sagrado and the situation of the player.

López has a reported value of $2 million at specialized website Transfermarkt but due to his situation he may be leaving Chivas for a smaller amount of money. Almeyda could negotiate, convince the player to make the move and the club o let him out as well.
