After a lot of rumors linking them to Luis Díaz from FC Porto, Tottenham Hotspur finally made official the interest they have in the Colombian strikers, as they offered $56.5 million to acquire the 25-year-old before the winter transfer window ends.

Although the Spurs are not the only team interested in acquiring the Colombia international -he’s also been linked to Premier League sides Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United-, Tottenham were the first to officially start negotiations. They gave Porto a 48-hour window to answer their offer.
Díaz has been having and impressive season so far, and he currently is one of Colombia National Team most prominent players, which is why Porto has valued the player in $90.5 million, almost the double of what Tottenham offered. It’s yet to be seen whether Porto counteroffers or declines the Spurs first attempt.

The 25-year-old left-winger joined Porto in 2019 out of Junior FC on a permanent move worth $8.1 million. In the 3 seasons he’s played in the Portuguese top flight, Díaz has played a total of 125 games. During that span of time, he’s been able to score 41 goals and assist 19 times. He’s under contract until 2024.
