The Russia-Ukraine war is affecting the whole world and the soccer world is no stranger to it, which is why Manchester United and Schalke 04 broke contracts with Russian sponsors.

While the information about Schalke 04 is already a fact, that of Manchester United is just a rumor that, according to the Daily Star, would affect the English club's millionaire revenues concerning the loss of its Russian sponsors.
According to information revealed by the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are about to break a million-dollar contract with Russian airline Aeroflot.
The Russian brand became in April 2017 the first Russian sponsor of those who plays at Old Trafford and in 2013 Cristiano Ronaldo's club announced the five-year renewal of the contract with the Russian airline.
According to information from the specialized press, this contract left Manchester United with a profit of approximately 48M euros that will be lost since, even though it expires in the summer of 2023, the new United CEO, Richard Arnold, "has no intention of renewing it".
And the issue does not stop there because as far as the English media have reported, Ralf Rangnick's team has the firm intention of looking for a new airline to transport them to his commitments.
And Qatar Airways is already being considered for this possibility, according to the English media.
Aeroflot, Russia's national airline that flies to 146 destinations in 52 countries, could also cause problems for its partners outside Russia if the United States decides to impose a sanction on the country ruled by Vladimir Putin.
FC Schalke 04, a team that plays in the second division of the Bundesliga, has already taken measures regarding the war conflict and announced through an official communiqué that they will remove the logo of Gazprom, the Russian company that sponsors them, from their uniform.
However, the miners' decision to remove the Gazprom logo from their jersey was not the first action they took, as before that, they sent a communiqué to Gazprom-Germany to communicate their grievances and the consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Another of the actions that have occurred as a reflection of the consequences of this armed conflict for the world is that the representative of the Russian consortium Gazprom in the Supervisory Board of Schalke 04, Mathias Warnig, announced his resignation from his position.
This resignation comes as a result of Warnig having been on the Schalke Supervisory Board since 2019, and was currently CEO of the GasStream II pipeline, the commissioning of which has been blocked indefinitely following the Russian attack on Ukraine.
With the removal of this Russian sponsor's logo from its jersey, Schalke 04 is likely to lose the contract with the company, for which it received €9 million annually and which was valid until 2025.
