The former New York City FC player will be in charge of saving the "Toffees" from the bottom of the Premier League table where Benitez left them.

The arrival of the former Chelsea FC coach seems to be the icing on the cake of the restructuring that Everton is carrying out to get back to winning ways

How long will Frank Lampard be Everton's manager?

The former New York City FC player will coach Everton for the next two and a half years, so until June 2024 the former Chelsea idol will be in charge of the "Toffees".

Through a press release, the club informed of the arrival of the player and also noted that his first game in charge of the team will be on Saturday 5 when Everton faces Brentford in the fourth round of the FA Cup

Lampard already has considerable coaching experience as he began managing Derby County in 2018, taking the team to that season's Championship play-off final.

The coach later came to Chelsea, the team where he became a global benchmark and went on to develop many of the club's young talents.

But it wasn't just development that he was responsible for as he led Chelsea to fourth place in the Premier League and the FA Cup final in his first season in charge.

In the press release, it was reported that the player does not arrive alone to the team as he will have Joe Edwards as his assistant manager, Paul Clement as first-team coach, and Chris Jones as first-team coach and head of performance.

More news about Frank Lampard:

Frank Lampard has already been welcomed by Everton supporters and team chairman Bill Kenwright

The club's boss said of the new manager's arrival:

"Frank has really impressed us throughout our process, being a modern, ambitious and exciting young manager. He expressed a clear vision of how he wants to take the club forward and, more importantly, a tremendous passion and genuine enthusiasm to join us. I am sure the Evertonians will give him the special welcome that only they can and will be looking forward to giving him and his coaching staff a warm welcome at Goodison next weekend."

Lampard also spoke at length about his arrival at the Liverpool club and said:

"It is a great honor for me to represent and manage a club of the size and tradition of Everton Football Club. I am very much looking forward to getting started. Having spoken to the owner, Chairman, and Board, I have very much sensed their passion and ambition. I hope they have sensed my ambition and how hard I want to work to achieve it."

The rescue mission Lampard will attempt will be challenging as Everton FC currently sits in 16th place in the Premier League and has accumulated just 19 points.

The team also has 5 wins, 4 draws, and 11 defeats, in addition to being one of the highest-scoring teams in the league with 35 goals, as opposed to the 24 they have been able to score.

So if Frank Lampard succeeds in his mission, he will surely become a legend for the club.
