This is how much it would cost Manchester City to sign this winger from Italian Serie A side Milan

The Italian Serie A Milan winger Manchester City is looking for is none other than Rafael Leao, and City is willing to pay around €70 million for the player, according to international media reports. 

Therefore, the Manchester City board has contacted Jorge Mendes, Leao's agent, to start negotiations and finalize the transfer of the player from Serie A to the Premier League as soon as possible. 

However, there is a detail that could complicate his transfer to England and A. C. Milan is responsible for that. 

Rafael Leao could go to City, but Milan is not very much in agreement

The issue with Leao's contract is not so simple since his contract runs until June 2024 and the Milan board wants to renew his contract for two more years rather than sell him. 

To do so, they would have to raise his salary to 4.5 million euros per year, but apparently, they would be willing to sell him for the 70 million euros mentioned above.

This is not the first time that City's strong interest in the player has been made known, as it was previously reported in the press that Guardiola wants him for his team, but now the Manchester club is not the only one looking for Leao. 

Arsenal and Newcastle United will also be looking for the player and this complicates the Sky Blues' outlook because there is another signing that they urgently need to complete before any other: Erling Haaland.

In the 36 games, Leao has played this season with the Rossoneri, he has scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists, and has become one of the offensive pillars of the team.

And he has been a fundamental part of his team's leadership of the overall Serie A table, where he reigns supreme. Leao is only 22 years old and has managed to become a reference on this team.
