With sanctions on Roman Abramovich's Blues, the club has no money to go to their matches, and therefore, it is now known how many millions Kai Havertz will pay by taking over Chelsea's travels.

How many millions are Roman Abramovich's Chelsea losing from the sanctions imposed?

As part of the sanctions against the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, owner of the Stamford Bridge club, the club faces sanctions such as not receiving money from ticket and merchandise sales and also cannot carry out player transactions.

And this leaves the club in a very compromising situation, as the sanctions imposed on Abramovich also extend to the team, which cannot spend more than $26,000 on travel to matches.

Against this adverse backdrop, a hero has emerged from within the club and is willing to bear the travel costs for himself and his teammates. And that hero is none other than Kai Havertz.

The millions Kai Havertz will pay by taking over Chelsea's travels

Since Kai Havertz is paid €24,000 a day, and the maximum the club can spend on travel is $26,000 per trip, Havertz would have to spend his annual salary of €8.5 million a year on club travel.

This is because for the Premier League alone, the club still has to play at least 8 games in the tournament, and probably half of them will have to be played away from home, not counting those in the UEFA Champions League.

And if the situation continues into the next Premier League season, the German midfielder would have to spend his entire 1-year salary on club transport.

And the player was quite blunt with his statements to the press on the matter when asked about the travel issue:

"I would pay for it, it's not a problem. It is not a big problem. For us to get to the games is the most important thing. There are more important things in the world right now than whether we take a bus or a plane to play an away game."

"It's a strange situation for everyone at the club": Kai Havertz on the Chelsea situation

The press pressed on the issue of the sanctions the club now suffers from the sanctions Roman Abramovich faces, to which Havertz said:

"We are all professionals and we know it's a strange situation for everyone at the club. What we have to do is focus on the games. That's all we can do, the rest is the club's job. I can't tell you much more because we are focused on the games. It's not easy for us, for the club, or for the fans. What we can do is play good soccer and give our fans something to cheer about."

Despite the crisis the club is facing, Chelsea is in third place in the Premier League with 59 points, and with a good pace, despite the fact that they will just start to resent the sanctions imposed on the club when the time comes to try to make player transfers.
