Abramovich hands over Chelsea management after 20 years and a potential new buyer emerges

Surprise at Chelsea. Roman Abramovich has published an official statement through the website of Chelsea, the club he owns, that he has decided to hand over the administration of the institution.

In a brief message, the Russian oligarch explained to the fans that he has decided to hand over the administration of the club after 20 years to those in charge of the club's charitable foundation. 

The Russian crossroads, a consequence of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, means that the Chelsea team could be sold imminently. For this reason, Abramovich has decided to step aside and leave the club himself.

This decision is also due to the fact that the English government could sanction the London club by freezing financial assets. In addition, it could demand a sum close to 1.8 billion euros, an amount that was loaned to the institution. 

That is why in the last hours The Times published information in which it assured that a possible buyer of Chelsea would have emerged, a candidate to take the reins of the English team. It is the company Ineos, focused on chemical products, which already owns another team: Nice in Ligue 1.
