The Red Devils have been actively seeking reinforcements in the left-back position throughout the January transfer window as they look to bolster their squad and improve their fortunes on the pitch. With the club's recent performances falling short of expectations, the need for quality additions has become more pressing.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have identified Dorgu, a 20-year-old full-back currently impressing at Italian Serie A side Lecce, as a prime target. The Danish youngster has been turning heads with his impressive displays, showcasing his attacking prowess and blistering pace.

Having already had one bid rejected by Lecce, United are now preparing to table an improved offer of over £30 million. The club's hierarchy is determined to secure the signature of Dorgu, who is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football.

Why Dorgu?

Dorgu's combination of attacking flair and defensive solidity makes him an attractive proposition for many top clubs. His ability to get forward and create chances, coupled with his strong tackling and aerial ability, make him a well-rounded full-back. Additionally, his age and potential for further development make him a long-term asset for any club.

A busy transfer window

Manchester United have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the season. While Dorgu is the latest name to be added to their list of targets, the club is also exploring other options in the transfer market.

The Red Devils are keen to address their defensive issues and are believed to be interested in signing a central defender as well. However, their primary focus at the moment appears to be securing the signing of Dorgu.

What next for Manchester United?

With the January transfer window drawing to a close, United will be keen to wrap up their business as soon as possible. It remains to be seen whether Lecce will accept their latest offer for Dorgu, but the club is confident of getting a deal over the line.

If United are successful in their pursuit of Dorgu, it will be seen as a major coup for the club. The Danish youngster has the potential to become a star player at Old Trafford and help to restore the club to its former glory.
