Emiliano Martinez sparked concern for Argentina after being replaced at half-time during Aston Villa’s match against Crystal Palace. The goalkeeper started the game but felt discomfort in one of his hamstrings and chose not to take any risks, leading Unai Emery to substitute him.

Villa suffered a 4-1 defeat away from home, but the biggest worry for Argentine fans was Martinez’s early exit. As a key figure in Lionel Scaloni’s squad, any injury setback could be a major issue ahead of Argentina’s upcoming fixtures.

Warning signs in training

Reports suggest that Martinez had already experienced discomfort in the affected area during a training session prior to the match. However, after recovering, he was deemed fit to start.

During the first half against Crystal Palace, the pain resurfaced, prompting him to come off as a precaution. While the severity of the issue remains unclear, both Aston Villa’s medical staff and Argentina’s coaching team will be closely monitoring his recovery.

Will he miss Argentina’s next matches?

Argentina cannot afford bad news regarding Martinez, given his crucial role in Scaloni’s squad. With important fixtures on the horizon, any physical issue could disrupt the team’s plans.

Although there has been no official medical update yet, Aston Villa are hopeful that it is only muscle fatigue rather than a serious injury. Nevertheless, his condition will be closely assessed to avoid further complications.

For now, Argentina fans are hoping that Martinez recovers swiftly and remains available to protect the national team’s goal in the upcoming matches.
