FC Barcelona will play their first season under their new manager, Hansi Flick, who will replace Xavi Hernandez. The Barcelona fans are excited to see how the team performs this upcoming season under the German manager. Flick has already trained the FC Barcelona squad, and the manager has been impressed with a couple of players that have been training for weeks. One of those players is Ansu Fati, who is back at the club after his loan at Brighton.
Fati impressed Flick during the training sessions, and unlike Xavi, Flick is planning to give him a chance at FC Barcelona and wants him to play next season. Ansu has been working hard in the training ground under the instrucions of Pepe Conde, the physical coach. Everything was looking good for Fati, but he suffered a foot injury during training, which may keep him out for a couple of weeks.
Barca fans feared that this would ruin his chance to play at FC Barcelona this upcoming season, but Flick still wants him to play for him. Flick said, "In the first days of training, he was unbelievable! His fitness was on top, you could see it all on the pitch. It’s a pity that he’s injured, but we have to accept it, help him come back stronger."
Not only does Flick count on Fati when he comes back from his injury but he mentioned where the player would play in the team next season as he prised his qualities. Flick said, "Ansu Fati plays as a left winger but he can also play as a number 9. My technical team is working with him, now he is injured and we have to wait."
Ahead of the summer, Fati told Mundo Deportivo that he looked forward to the preseason as he wanted to prove to the Barcelona fans that he still has what it takes to help the team win trophies. Fati said, "People think I'm injured but I'm fine, I am 100% ready for Barça next season. I spend a long time in the gym, I'm doing my best to be in excellent shape. I want to succeed at Barcelona."
Hansi Flick was officially presented as the FC Barcelona manager by club president Joan Laporta. Flick was talking about his goal for FC Barcelona but clarified that there was work to be done. Flick said, "My goal is to win titles, but it's not going to happen just because I say it, we're going to try. I've already said it, it's good to win titles and there are many games, but we will keep pace step by step and game by game."
