Real Madrid's squad is one of the best-assembled teams in the world, and this summer, it got even stronger, especially in the attack. Los Blancos signed Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer while also bringing Endrick Felipe after agreeing a deal with Palmeiras to sign him this summer since late 2022. The attack is now stacked, and there will be lots of competition this summer.
While the team has a lot of attackers, players will get even more limited minutes. Carlo Ancelotti will have an ice problem to solve this upcoming season, and one of the players who will not give up on getting minutes is Arda Guler. The Turkish right-winger could also play as a midfielder but is not guaranteed a starting position.
Guler seems to be an exciting prospect for Real Madrid to have, and they do not want to sell him this summer, but since he may not given lots of minutes like players such as Mbappé, Endrick, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo, Guler may be given the opportunity to shine. Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen is interested in signing Guler on loan this summer. Sport also reports that AC Milan wants to sign him on a season-long loan, which would be great for Guler to develop.
Guler joined the Real Madrid team to prepare for the US pre-season tour after playing at EURO 2024 with the Turkiye national team. Turkiye reached the quarterfinals of the competition this summer but was eliminated by the Netherlands after losing 2-1. Guler is expected to start in Real Madrid's first preseason match, which was on July 31st against AC Milan at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Guler struggled to get minutes in the previous season as he was recovering from an injury he suffered during his time at Fenerbache last summer. Carlo Ancelotti did not play him as much when he was fully recovered. Guler played ten matches in La Liga at the latest stages of the past season, but he scored six goals, which was impressive to many.
Arda Guler made a name for himself at the European Championship this summer as he guided Turkiye to a great tournament. Guler played in all five of Turkiye's matches in the EUROS, where he started in four. He scored a goal and provided two assists in the competition.
He scored in Turkiye's first match at the EUROS this summer against Georgia in a 3-1 win at the Borussia Dortmund stadium. His goal was one of the best goals of the tournament as he took a long shot from outside the box with his left foot to give Turkiye a 2-1 lead.
