Manchester United are already working on preparing for the upcoming season, as they have already played two friendly matches in the preseason. Not all the players in the squad are involved, as some are still on vacation. One of those players is Kobbie Mainoo as he just finished his EURO 2024 journey with the England national team. England lost 2-1 to Spain in the EUROS final.

Mainoo played a lot of games this past season and then went on to play a key role in England's matches in the knockout stages of the European Championship. The 19 year old midfielder will continue to have a major role in Manchester United next season but he may start the season with a different look.

A viral video showcases what Mainoo is up to a week after the EUROS final against Spain in Germany. Mainoo had a haircut, and his new look caught the attention of many football fans. The English midfielder was recorded by his barber, and some believe that it could be him forgetting the EUROS loss and starting fresh for the next season.

Mainoo had a breakout season with Manchester United and slowly gained the trust of Erik Ten Hag. Mainoo was impressed with Man United's 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park in November. He started to get more minutes at the start of 2024 and scored his first goal for the club against Newport in a 4-2 win in the FA Cup.

Mainoo then earned his first call-up for the English national team in March for the friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. He made his England debut in the 1-0 loss against Brazil at Wembley Stadium, where he came on in the 75th minute. Endrick scored the winner for the Brazilians against the England national team. Mainoo started in a 2-2 draw against Belgium, where he played for 74 minutes.

Kobbie Mainoo at EURO 2024

Mainoo was not the first choice for Gareth Southgate at the beginning of EURO 2024. The midfielder came on in the 86th minute in the 1-0 win against Serbia, England's first match of the EUROS. He was benched against Denmark in a 1-1 draw.

He played 45 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Slovenia, and from there, he started in all of the knockout stages for England. He played more than 70 minutes against Slovakia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Kobbie Mainoo was one of the EUROS revelations. Along with young players like Lamine Yamal or Jamal Musiala, the English midfielder shined for his performances. One of the stats that impressed the fans more, was his pass accuracy. Despite been 19 years old, he managed to average 96% of pass accuracy.

This stat comes from intending 138 passes throught the tournament, before the final. From those 138 he only missed 5 of them. Not only England national team was happy with this performances, but also Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United's coach, who followed the participation of hos young star very closely.

He also broke several records. For example, he became just the 3rd youngest player to dispute a Euros final, just behind Lamine Yamal, who participated for Spain in the same game, and Renato Sanches who was 18 years old in the 2016 Euros in France.

With 19 years, Mainoo equaled Cristiano Ronaldo's record, were he played the final of the Euros 2004 in Portugal, against Greece.
