FC Barcelona hopes to improve in the upcoming season, and under Hansi Flick, there is a lot of excitement amongst the fans. Barcelona will look to improve the team as the summer transfer window is open, and one of the players they are desperate to sign is Nico Williams. The Spanish winger not only impressed the Catalan club because of his performances at Atheltic Bilbao but also because of his EUROS with Spain.

Williams seems to be Barcelona's main target this summer, but it will be an expensive deal to complete. Williams is causing interest from other big clubs in Europe, but the players seem more open to joining the Catalan club. While a deal is yet to be completed, FC Barcelona fans are growing impatient and have found a way to persuade the club to sign the Spanish winger.

On TikTok, FC Barcelona posted a video of Yamal with his new number announced to be the number 19. In the comment section, many Barcelona fans sent money to the account for the club to spend it on the transfer fee for Nico Williams.

Nico Williams has a release clause in his contract that is worth over $60 million. His contract with Athletic Bilbao expires in the summer of 2027. He played a total of 37 matches for Bilbao this past season across all competitions, including La Liga and the Copa del Rey. He scored eight goals and provided 19 assists across both competitions, where he was key in helping his team win the Copa Del Rey.

Williams played six out of Spain's seven matches in EURO 2024. He started in all six of the matches that he played in. He scored two goals and provided an assist in the competition. He scored in the EUROS Final against England in Spain's 2-1 win.

Not only does FC Barcelona want to sign Nico Williams at the Camp Nou, but the club plans to sign Dani Olmo. Olmo used to be at La Masia, FC Barcelona's academy, but the Spaniard moved to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, where he made his professional debut. He then moved to RB Leipzig in 2020 and has looked like an incredible player since then. He showed his qualities once again at the EUROS with Spain and formed great chemistry with players like Nico Williams.

Barcelona fans dream that the club could be able to sign both Olmo and Williams, but they want Williams as the priority signing this summer. Williams is among the best players in La Liga, and he was included in the best 11 of the EUROS as he was named in the Team of the Tournament along with Olmo and Barcelona's youngster Lamine Yamal. FC Barcelona wants to make sure that the duo arrives at the new Camp Nou that is set to be ready to play later this year.

Ernesto Valverde on Nico Williams' future

The manager of Atheltic Bilbao, Ernesto Valverde, was asked about the future of Nico Williams, who is heavily rumored to be close to joining FC Barcelona. Valverde said, "Nico Williams? We are counting on him to return to training; he is happy with us, and we are happy with him. I'm sure he loves what's ahead of him; I see him well and happy."
