Cristiano Ronaldo is playing his sixth EUROS with the Portuguese national team, and it is very likely that he will play the last EUROS of his career. The Al Nassr striker is causing lots of excitement in Germany, and neutral fans want to see him play his final games in Europe. Because of this excitement, many fans have wanted to invade the pitch to get a picture with Ronaldo, and that is exactly what happened in the match between Portugal and Turkiye at Borussia Dortmund. The situation got annoying for Ronaldo as about six invaders approached the striker and interrupted the game too many times. UEFA has announced security will be beefed up in stadiums for the remainder of Euro 2024 over concerns for player safety after Cristiano Ronaldo was repeatedly targeted by selfie-hunting pitch invaders. The Portuguese Federation asked the European Union to improve security at the Euro Championship after the game between Portugal and Turkiye witnessed many fans attempting to take a picture with Ronaldo.

A UEFA spokesperson spoke abotu the decision they took after the fans constantly invaded to get close to Ronaldo. They said, "Safety and security in the stadium, on the pitch, and at team facilities are the ultimate priority for UEFA, DFB, and EURO 2024. To this end, additional safety measures will be deployed in the stadiums to further meet the requirements of the tournament and to prevent such incidents."

They did not specifically explain the new measures they will take when it comes to security as they say, "For reasons of security, we cannot comment further on specific measures. As a reminder, any incursion onto the pitch constitutes a breach of the stadium rules and will result in expulsion from the stadium, a ban from all tournament matches, and the filing of a formal criminal complaint for trespass."

More fans tried to get close to Ronaldo

Today, Portugal was having a training session, and fans tried interrupting the session to meet Ronaldo. According to A Bola, Some fans tried to enter the training headquarters before the start of Portugal’s training, but security guards were able to stop them.
