Real Madrid fans have been very happy with the development of Vinicius Jr. since his arrival in the summer of 2018. The Brazilian winger did not have a great start to his career in Spain, but over the past few years, he has become one of the best players in the world. Los Blancos have been lucky to have Vinicius Junior as he has guided them to two Champions League trophies in the last three years, and now he is the favorite to win the Ballon d'Or award this year.
The Brazilian has also won La Liga titles with the club, and now, under Carlo Ancelotti, he is on top of the Real Madrid squad in terms of importance. While he has achieved so much and has been praised highly for his work on the pitch, the Brazilian should also be praised for his work off the pitch as well, as he helped a lot of people in Brazil.
Mario Cortegana from The Athletic reports that Vinicius Jr. donated more than $1.4 million to his foundation last year, which directly benefited 3,500 children. He is following in the footsteps of Neymar Jr., who also has an organization to help Brazilian children
Not only does Vinicius Jr. help kids in Brazil, but he also brings smiles to other countries across the world. The Brazilian was seen in Morocco to play with young fans and also donated to help their education and other vital things to improve their lives.
In the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony, Vinicius Jr. won the Socrates Award for his humanitarian work with the ‘Vini Jr. Institute, which helps with the education of children who can't afford it. The Brazilian invested more than $340k in 2022 and has already donated more than $1.4 million. This year he is expected to donate more than $1.4 million, which some reports suggest the number could surpass $2.5 million.
The award meant a lot for Vinicius Jr., but it meant even more for the children who were helped by the player's foundation. Videos online showed that over 300 children in six different schools involved in the Vinicius Jr. project were celebrated as the players accepting the Socrates Award. The images show how many children Vinicius Jr. has helped so far, and he is willing to continue working to help as many kids as possible in Brazil.
Vinicius Jr. was appointed a role for helping the people of Brazil, and after his acts were awarded in the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony, he was appointed as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. Vinicius Jr. posted about this great recognition and showed it on his social media pages.
Vinicius Jr. wrote a message on X about what it means to be recognized with this role and wrote, "Being appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador at just 23 years old is more than an honour, it's an achievement and a duty which I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. Of course, I want to be recognized as a great player, but also as a citizen who tried to make a difference. I’ve been fighting for education since I was 19 years old, and my Institute is gradually developing in Brazil. Thanks to the support of UNESCO, we're now going to have a positive impact on the whole world.
