Diego Kochen is one of the great sensations of FC Barcelona. Although he has not managed to make his debut with the first team, the goalkeeper has already been taken into account by Xavi Hernández as a substitute in previous matches for the Blaugrana team. This goalkeeper has three nationalities: Venezuelan (father), Peruvian (mother) and American (birth).

Speaking a little about the 1.88 meter player's past, he began his career at the Weston Academy in his native country, then he played at the Tecnofutbol School in Spain and, in 2019, he arrived at La Masía del Barcelona. His good performances in the Catalans' lower categories allowed him to be promoted to the main draw.

In this way, by having three nationalities, Kochen can play for the teams of Peru, Venezuela and the United States. Although the goalkeeper represented his native country in the under-17 category, it has not yet been ruled out that he may be inclined to wear the red and white jersey in the future. Now, it is worth asking: What are his qualities under the three suits? As seen in this video, Kochen not only has good reflexes, but also knows how to handle the ball at his feet.

As expected, Kochen's reference point is Marc Andre Ter Stegen, the starting goalkeeper of FC Barcelona: "Being a goalkeeper, I was very impressed by meeting Ter Stegen. He is my reference point and my idol since I was 12 years old. Always watching him play, being able to share dressing room with him I couldn't believe it," revealed the goalkeeper who can represent Peru.

For the goalkeeper with Peruvian roots, it is a dream to be at La Masía: "It is a dream for me, I was here in Weston and in a short time I was part of one of the best quarries in the world." The Miami player revealed that "when I was in the Marcet school and my father told me in training that Barça wanted me, I couldn't believe it. I am very grateful to my parents, without them I wouldn't be here," Kochen confessed.

Will Kochen be Gallese's replacement?

As stated by the journalist Christian Martin, Diego Kochen could replace Pedro Gallese in the porch of the Peruvian National Team in a few years. Everything will depend on his decision to want to defend the bicolor and if he has the opportunity to be called by the coach on duty.
