Lionel Messi and Inter Miami grabbed another win in the MLS as they defeated CF Montreal 3-2 in Canada. Things were positive throughout the match as Montreal was leading 2-0, and Messi suffered a knock on the pitch that many feared was a serious injury. The Argentine star received treatment from the medical staff, but he got up and was fine with returning to the pitch. What wasn't fine for him was that he had to step off the field for two minutes due to the rules of the MLS for players receiving treatment. Messi was annoyed and took the time to speak to the camera and say, "These types of rules... they aren't good."

Seconds after Messi complained to the referee, his teammate Matias Rojas scored an incredible free kick that was sent into the top right corner. Messi wanted to take the free kick, but it was fine since the goal inspired the team to make an impressive comeback; being 2-0 down in the 32nd minute of the first half. Rojas' free kick was scored in the 44th minute of the first half, and it took a few minutes later for Inter Miami to find the equalizer.

Luis Suarez scored for Inter Miami just before halftime to make it 2-2. The comeback was getting closer, and the momentum shifted toward the Miami team. In the 58th minute, Inter Miami scored the third and final goal of the night as Rojas sent a perfect ball to Benjamin Cremaschi, who slightly tapped the ball past the keeper to make it 3-2 to Miami. The game did not include any more goals from either team and Inter Miami picked up three crucial points from Canada.
