PSG and Ousmane Dembele arrived at Barcelona with a wave of boos and insults outside of their hotel ahead of the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against FC Barcelona tomorrow. Dembele was the least favorite of the crowd due to his celebration against Barcelona last week in the first leg in Paris. Dembele spent six years at the Catalan club, and yet he celebrated his goal against FC Barcelona, which did not please fans in Spain. The French winger is expected to receive lots of boos at the stadium tomorrow based on the insults he received today at his arrival with the rest of the PSG team.
There was also a video of the PSG first arriving in Spain from a coach bus, and the team was received with insults and boos. Dembele received the most insults due to his celebration last week, and the fans believe he is ungrateful for his time at the Catalan club despite not living up to expectations. COPE journalist Victor Navarro recorded the video of Dembele's arrival in Barcelona and at PSG's hotel.
Dembele scored in PSG's 3-2 defeat at the Parc des Princes last week in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. Tomorrow's second leg is all to play for, as the deficit is only by one goal. The winner of the game tomorrow will advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will take on Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele joined PSG from FC Barcelona for $53.5 million last summer. Since then, he has made 35 appearances with PSG this season, scored two goals, and provided 13 assists. He only has one goal in Ligue 1, and it was against AS Monaco in PSG's 5-2 win last November at the Parc des Princes.
