Manchester United is a historic football club as it has won many Premier League titles and the Champions League. There are many historic players who have played for the club, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, and more. Another player that is part of that list is Wayne Rooney, who is the top goalscorer of the club's history with 253 goals in 559 appearances.

Rooney did not play for Man United at the club level, but some fans believe that he was born to play for the team for many years and is a legend. The fans hope to see their team reach heights when Rooney plays, and some believe that Rooney's son, Kai Rooney, could be the answer for Manchester United's future. Kai is 14 years old and is part of the Manchester United academy.

On social media, a clip shows the quality that Kai Rooney had on the pitch, which has impressed lots of fans. His shooting was showcased on a small pitch, but the finish was impossible for the goalkeeper to save. Some fans believe that in a few years, he will given a chance to play for the senior team of Manchester United and shine in the big competitions like how Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garancho are doing.

Kai Rooney, being in the Man United youth team, found some success for the young player who aspired to be like his father in football. A few months ago, Kai Rooney won the U14 Albert Phelan National Cup final, with him being the top goalscorer. There are a lot of similarities between Kai and Wayne Rooney, as the two are goal-hungry in front of goal. Kai is demonstrating great finishing, which is what Wayne Rooney showed for many years at Man United.

The young striker has produced some crazy numbers at the youth team of Manchester United, showing lots of potential within the club, which could earn him a call-up to the first team in a few years. In the 22/23 season for the Man United U14 team, Kai Rooney scored 56 goals and provided 28 assists. He was injured, but in the past season, he scored eight goals and provided six assists in eight games from his return from the injury he suffered.

Wayne Rooney on his son's potential

Wayne Rooney was talking with Gary Neville about his son Kai Rooney and the fact that the former Manchester United players were impressed by the young striker. Gary Nevile spoke about Kai Rooney and said, "I’ve only seen little clips of him on social media and stuff, but he has got your sort of.."

Rooney interrupted and said, "My physique, but he’ll be taller than me and he’s a goalscorer, he’s in the box, he sniffs chances out and that’s his game, so he’s doing okay.”

Neville asked him about the possibility of Rooney's son getting a chance on the team in the next few years, but Wayne Rooney doesn't want to put too much pressure on his son. Wayne Rooney said, "I think it’s too early, you never know. I think he’s showing potential and good signs. So he’s obviously he’ll be at United now for the next two years and that’s when they make decisions on you so just wait and see.” Manchester United is not shy about letting young players play for the team on the biggest stage as they have trusted young players in the past, like Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, for example. Man United won the Champions League in 1999 with a very young squad.
