Cristiano Ronaldo once again broke another record in football as he broke the Saudi League record for the most goals in a season. He scored 35 goals in 31 games, and CR7 became the first-ever player to be the league’s top goalscorer in four different countries. Ronaldo scored the opener in the Al Nassr vs Al Ittihad match late in the first half. Ronaldo scored and celebrated the goal, but he had doubts that it was offside. Ronaldo celebrates, but he asks the Al Nassr bench if they know if the goal was offside. His teammates tell him no, and then the referee blows the whistle to reset the game, meaning the goal stands. Ronaldo asked because he had scored an offside goal earlier in the first half. This opener led to Ronaldo equalizing the Saudi League record for the most goals in a season at 34 goals.
Ronaldo scored a brilliant goal to equalize the record as he controlled the ball from a great long pass and then converted the chance past the keeper. Ronaldo’s goal led to large celebrations at the Al Awal Park since they knew this goal was historic in the Saudi Pro League. This wasn’t the end for celebrations as he managed to overtake the record and put his name in the history books once again.
Ronaldo became a record holder as he scored his brace to become the player with the most goals in the Saudi League ever, with 35 goals. That was his 50th goal for Al Nassr this season across all competitions. Just after being close to scoring a free kick, Ronaldo scores a header from a corner kick to break the record in the Saudi League.
Ronaldo and Al Nassr defeated Al Ittihad 4-2 at Al Awal Park in the last matchday of the 23/24 Saudi Pro League season. Al Nassr finished the season with 82 points in 2nd place after 34 games played. Now their last game of the season will be on Friday against Al Hilal in the King’s Cup Final.
