The Summer Olympics Games football tournament in Paris began today, and one game has already caused lots of controversy based on the way it was handled. One of the first games played in the football tournament was U23 Argentina taking on U23 Morocco in Group B. The game began at 3 pm local time in France, and it ended at 7:07 pm, which lasted over four hours!

The game was wild, as Morocco was leading 2-0, and Soufiane Rahimi scored a brace, but Giuliano Simeone pulled one back for Argentina to make it 2-1. The referees added 15 minutes after the 90th minute, and at the last minute, Cristian Medina scored a header in the box to equalize and make it 2-2. The late draw infuriated the Morocco fans, who were throwing items at the Argentina players, leading both teams to go back to the dressing rooms.

The match did not conclude, and the referee temporarily suspended the match. The match did not go on until all of the fans left the stadium. The game was renewed after a pause of an hour and a half. Things got worse for Argentina as the equalizer was disallowed for offside. Argentina vs Morocco was given three minutes without fans, and the game ended in 2-1 for Morocco.

The match was something many football fans had never seen before, as it took so long for a match to end after the unfortunate situation with the Morocco fans that were throwing items towards the Argentina players. The Argentina fans are furious with the situation, and it also means that they debut in the Summer Olympics with a loss, which is a bad start to the tournament as they want to win the gold medal under Javier Mascherano, the head coach of the U-23 Argentina team.

Mascherano was furious about the decision to disallow the goal Medina scored, which would've been the equalizer for Argentina. VAR checked the play, and an Argentina player was slightly offside. Mascherano couldn't hold his comments to himself and said, "This is the biggest circus I have ever seen!” Mascherano and his team will now prepare for their next game of the group stage in Group B against U-23 Iraq. That match will be played this Saturday, July 27th, at the Groupama Stadium.

Argentina's last match will be against U-23 Ukraine on July 30th, next Tuesday, which will be played at the Groupama Stadium. The match against Morocco was played at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard at Saint Etienne. Argentina are last in Group B at the moment, and if they dream of advancing to the next round, they will have to win their next two matches. If they advance to the next round, Argentina will go up against the winner of the runners-up of Group A, which includes the U-23 teams of New Zealand, Guinea, the United States, and France. France is the favorite to win the football tournament at the Paris Games this summer.
