Real Madrid had a very successful season under Carlo Ancelotti as they won the Spanish Super Cup, the La Liga title, and the Champions League trophy. The Spanish club is set to get stronger next season as the arrivals of Endrick and Kylian Mbappé will make the attack stronger. Most of the squad was very useful to Carlo Ancelotti, who rotated players occasionally due to their busy schedule. One of the key players in Real Madrid's team that many did not expect to shine was their second-choice goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin. Ancelotti picked the Ukrainian keeper to replace the injured Thibaut Courtois since he lost trust in their loan player, Kepa Arrizabalaga. Now, things could change for next season. Lunin is rumored to be looking for a new club this summer due to a lack of game time. Relevo reports that Real Madrid is considering extending the loan to Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga if Lunin were to leave. The Real Madrid fans expected the Spanish keeper to return to Chelsea next season, but now, with Lunin potentially leaving, he may stay another season.

El Partidazo de COPE reported a couple of days ago that Andriy Lunin is considering his future at Real Madrid this summer because his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti is rather cold. Some fans speculate the reason is because he did not start in the Champions League final after playing most of the season as the main keeper.

Lunin was sick in the week of the Champions League final and traveled to London on his own. Courtois only played four matches before the final, but he still started in the match. Reports suggest that a club that is interested in Lunin this summer is Arsenal from the Premier League.

Andriy Lunin's vs Kepa's season at Real Madrid

Lunin played 31 matches for Real Madrid this past season across all competitions. He conceded 32 goals but kept 12 clean sheets. Kepa played 20 matches for Real Madrid this past season across all competitions. He conceded 18 goals and kept nine clean sheets. Kepa's performances led to Ancelotti picking Lunin to start more games.
