FC Barcelona needs to fix its financial situation, especially this summer, since the summer transfer window is currently open, and the fans demand some signings that can help the team. The club president, Joan Laporta, mentioned many times that the situation is improving and that the club will be making important signings this summer. Two players who are currently linked with the club are Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

The Catalan club appreciates any extra funds they can get, and they are being compensated for an injury an FC Barcelona player suffered this summer is a crucial player. MARCA reports that FIFA compensation for Barcelona due to Ronald Araujo's injury may reach nearly $2.5 million. Araujo suffered an injury in Copa America while playing for the Uruguayan national team.

According to an FC Barcelona medical report, Araujo has a right hamstring tendon injury. Araujo suffered the injury in the quarterfinals of the Copa America against Brazil. He came off the pitch in the 33rd minute and felt the pain after running without a collision with another player. Araujo could return back to normal in December or early 2025 as he will undergo surgery.

Araujo played four out of six matches for Uruguay at the Copa America. He started in all four of the Uruguay's matches he played in the Copa America. Araujo only played 45 minutes in the first match of the group stage against Panama because he felt pain. The Barcelona defender managed to start the rest of the matches, as Uruguay won all three of their group-stage matches. Araujo provided an assist in Uruguay's 5-0 win against Bolivia.

Uruguay finished first in their group with nine points and advanced to the semifinals against Colombia. They defeated Brazil 4-2 on penalties in the quarterfinals after the match finished 0-0 after 90 minutes. Uruguay lost 1-0 against Colombia in the semifinals but finished third after beating Canada 4-3 on penalties after the match after 90 minutes finished 2-2.

Who will replace Araujo at FC Barcelona for the beginning of the season?

Sport reports that Mikayil Faye could stay at FC Barcelona because of Ronald Araujo’s injury. Hansi Flick, the new manager of FC Barcelona, is very happy with the young defender. Faye is a 20 year old Senegalese centerback who played at the Barca Atletic team this past season. He was called up in a few FC Barcelona matches this past season but didn't get any minutes under Xavi Hernandez.

With Flick trusting the youth players a lot and with Araujo's injury, Barcelona fans could expect Faye to get minutes for the first team of FC Barcelona next season. There are high expectations for the young defender, and I think he could have a breakout season with FC Barcelona in La Liga and in other competitions.
