Manchester United has looked more ambitious than ever before under Erik Ten Hag and now under new joint owner INEOS' Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe looks at the current squad and wants to see improvements on the pitch. While Man United has won the last five in all competitions, Ratcliffe is unconvinced by certain players in the squad. Man United could risk breaching FFP rules if they overspend this summer transfer window, so Ratcliffe plans to clear out the squad.

Ratcliffe recently spoke about his aspirations for the club and said he wants Man United to be competitive in every competition they are in. Ratcliffe said, " I think the ultimate target for Manchester United, and it's always going to be thus, really, is that we should be challenging for the Premier League and challenging for the Champions League."

Ratcliffe explains the problems Man United has regarding the Champions League. Ratcliffe said, "We have two issues - one is the longer term, getting Manchester United to where, where we would like to get it, but there’s also the shorter term of getting the most out of the club as it stands today because we would like to see the Champions League for next season if we can."

When mentioned about FFP, the English owner said, "The FFP has become a new aspect of running a football club. The club has spent a lot over the last two seasons. So, this has an impact on the FFP going forward, as the club has used up a lot of his allowance. You have to think about how to optimize the club in terms of FFP, and the stadium is part of that. You can increase your income by building a new stadium or rebuilding a stadium."
