After many months of rumors that Manchester United was looking for a new manager for next season, the club has decided to stick with Erik Ten Hag next season and offer him a new contract. The decision was made after an end-of-the-season review where the board of the club analyzed what they should do with the Dutch manager based on the past season. Man United finished 8th in the Premier League table but won the FA Cup. Some fans are happy that the manager will stay so the team does not have to restart on tactics and different strategies for next season, while other fans hoped to have a better manager for next season after being linked with names like Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi, and Zinedine Zidane. Some fans believe that the team and club deserved better after finishing out the top 7 and having a poor campaign in the Champions League, finishing bottom of their group that included Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

A Manchester United legend who was satisfied with the news that Ten Hag will stay at the club is Paul Scholes. The former Man United reposted a story on Instagram and wrote his opinion on the matter. Scholes wrote, “Nice to wake up to this news, although I did think [Crystal] Palace away felt like the end... major improvements needed, but at least we have a bit of continuity and don’t have to wait for a new regime to settle in.”

Fabrizio Romano reports that talks between Manchester United and Erik ten Hag’s agents are already underway and advanced, with all parties anticipating an agreement on a new contract. His current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and there are rumors that he will extend for two more years with an option for an additional year.
