Real Madrid will be bringing most of their squad to the Champions League final, who is fit and available. Carlo Ancelotti will count on every player for the final, but a player in their squad has yet to make his senior debut with Real Madrid. Ancelotti will consider bringing him to London with the squad, as he has been a good luck charm during away games. That player is the Puerto Rican attacker Jeremy De Leon, who has been traveling with the Real Madrid team during the away games in the Champions League knockout stages. Melchor Ruiz from COPE reports that Carlo Ancelotti is taking Jeremy De Leon with the team to London. De Leon cannot play for Real Madrid this Saturday since he just joined the club during the January winter transfer window. He plays for Real Madrid Castilla, but Ancelotti likes how he trains with the rest of the team.

De Leon was with the team when they played Manchester City in Manchester during the Champions League quarterfinals. He also traveled with the team when they played against Bayern Munich in Germany during the Champions League semifinals. Real Madrid fans believe that he is a good luck charm since the team has yet to lose away from home. Real Madrid drew 1-1 against Man City but advanced to the semi via penalties, and they drew 2-2 against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semifinals.

Ancelotti was asked before why he took Jeremy De Leon to the squad when he could not play in the match. The Real Madrid manager said, “When we train we want to be 20 and since there are 19 available, we have brought him lately. I spoke with Raúl, he told me that he is serious, hardworking and with quality.”

The Real Madrid player who will not travel with the team

Many reports in Spain suggest that Andriy Lunin will likely not travel with Real Madrid to London after getting the flu this week. The player does not want to contaminate the rest of the squad to avoid any disadvantages in the Champions League Final. The Ukrainian keeper is likely to travel on Saturday, the day of the Champions League Final. The keeper has been working to keep fit at home, but he is likely not starting the match. Lunin has been crucial for Real Madrid this season, as they lost Thibaut Courtois at the start of the season due to an ACL tear in the preseason.

Despite Real Madrid signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea on a season-long loan, Lunin stepped up for the team and started most of the game throughout the season. Lunin played a total of 31 matches with Real Madrid this season across all competitions. He conceded 32 goals and kept 12 clean sheets. In the Champions League, Lunin was crucial as he made nine saves in a 1-0 win at Leipzig, had 10 saves and 2 penalties saved in a shootout win at Man City, and made 38 saves in 8 matches.
