Real Madrid's star forward Vinicius Jr. has been ruled out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury, a significant blow to the Spanish giants' Champions League campaign.

Despite a convincing 3-0 victory over Leganés in La Liga, a somber mood has descended over the Real Madrid camp. Following the match, it was revealed that Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr. had suffered a hamstring injury, sidelining him for at least two and a half weeks.

The club confirmed the news on their official social media channels, stating, "Following tests carried out today on our player Vinicius Junior by Real Madrid's medical services, he has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury in his left leg."

Real Madrid Struggles Without Vinicius Jr.: Champions League Hopes Dimmer

Vinicius' absence will be a huge loss for Real Madrid, particularly with their upcoming Champions League clash against Liverpool. The Brazilian winger has been in scintillating form this season, contributing 12 goals and 8 assists. His direct style of play and ability to create chances out of nothing have made him an indispensable part of Carlo Ancelotti's team.

While the extent of Vinicius' injury is still being assessed, it is expected that he could return to action in time for the Club World Cup final, which is scheduled to be played in Doha on December 18th. However, his absence for the crucial Champions League match against Liverpool is a significant setback for Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants will now have to find a way to cope without their star player. Rodrygo Goes is the most likely candidate to fill the void left by Vinicius, but it remains to be seen if any other player can replicate the Brazilian's impact.

As Real Madrid fans come to terms with the loss of their talisman, the club will be hoping that their other attacking players can step up and fill the void. With a challenging fixture list ahead, Carlo Ancelotti will need to find the right formula to ensure that his team remains competitive in both La Liga and the Champions League.
