Manchester United have been looking for potential new players for the next transfer window. Many media sources started heavy rumors about players Man United are interested in. Some players they are intrigued to sign come from the Bundesliga and the Portuguese league. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has decided to first focus on signing a good sporting director to identify good players for the club.

Man United is looking at Newcastle's sporting director, Dan Ashworth. Before singing a new sporting director, sources close to the club have named targets United is aiming to get in the summer and are primarily focused on filling four positions. United wants a midfielder who can play as an 8. Ratcliffe is also interested in getting a striker who has similar abilities to Harry Kane. For the defense, United looks to bring in a right-back and a center-back.

Rumors for the striker position have been Victor Osimhen from Napoli. The striker was also linked to Real Madrid but could change if the Kylian Mbappe saga is settled in the summer. A right-back target hasn't been mentioned yet but for the center-back position, Matthijs De Ligt and Ronald Araujo have been mentioned for the summer. For the number 8 role, Joao Neves has been heavily linked to a move to Old Trafford.

The young midfielder has been linked with Manchester United for a few months now, and the club has been rumored to be preparing a massive bid on the teenage midfielder. The Portuguese player is 19 years old and will turn 20 in September. The rumor is that Man United is looking to bring him in the summer. SL Benfica made a statement denying any talks or rumors of their player moving to Old Trafford.

Benfica's statement reads, “Sport Lisboa e Benfica denies the existence of any right of preference over its player João Neves. Under no circumstances has Sport Lisboa e Benfica started talks with Manchester United or any other club about this player from its formation – nor does it intend to do so – so any information that points to another direction is false.
