The Argentine icon will not play for Inter Miami in the next six to eight weeks, but he will be evaluated week by week. He already missed the two MLS games this past week, where the two won at the Chase Stadium against Toronto FC and Chicago Fire.

Messi may be going through an injury, but the Argentine player now enjoys his time off and spends it with his family and friends. Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, posted pictures of Messi relaxing at his home in Miami, and the pair spent time in a yacht with friends, including Luis Suarez and his partner.

Football fans noticed that Messi was wearing the protective boot he needed to wear to avoid the risk of another ankle injury. Fans also noticed Messi's sunburn on his chest in one of the pictures posted by his wife. After Inter Miami defeated Toronto FC 3-1 and defeated Chicago Fire 2-1, Messi's team will be playing in the Leagues Cup. They will play two Liga MX teams in the next two weeks. Inter Miami is placed in East Group 3 with Club Puebla and Tigres UNAL. Only two teams advance to the Round of 32.

Inter Miami will first play against Club Puebla this Saturday at the Chase Stadium. On August 3rd, Inter Miami will play against Tigres at the NRG Stadium. If Inter Miami does not advance to the next round, their next game will be on August 24th in the MLS against Cincinnati FC. With Lionel Messi, Inter Miami won the Leagues Cup last year.
