Not Xabi Alonso, the other three names Liverpool look to replace Jurgen Klopp

Xabi Alonso has been the favorite to be in charge of the Liverpool squad after Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the season. Alonso is currently managing Bayer Leverkusen but has expressed his desire to manage Liverpool one day. Alonso spoke about Klopp's announcement but did not speak on the Liverpool job.

Alonso, in a press conference, said, "Speculation is normal; my focus is here on Bayer Leverkusen. I am very happy at Leverkusen with my players at the moment. Big surprise in Liverpool, of course — for what Jürgen did in Liverpool I have great respect and admiration."

Fabrizio Romano stated that there is a gentlemen's agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Xabi Alonso to leave this summer if he believes a top club will approach him with an important proposal. Another name to take charge of the Liverpool squad next season is Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi.

De Zerbi reacted to Klopp's decision and said, “I can understand him, I think we have the best [job], but it is very tough. You need energy, and have to push everyday; improve day by day. You can't stop your improvement and studies for a new idea. Football is always in development."

Another name which could be a possibility is Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou. The Australian has admitted to being a Liverpool fan during his childhood, and Liverpool could consider him as another option. Ange joined Spurs last summer, and reports close to Spurs describe him as excited for the Spurs project and someone loyal to those who give him a chance, with a desire to succeed for them.

Julian Nagelsmann has become a new option for Liverpool to appoint this summer after Jurgen Klopp leaves

Julian Nagelsmann will be free to join Liverpool in the summer as his contract with the German National team runs until the end of the EURO 2024, which should be right in time to take over Liverpool. He’s part of the list of potential suitors and will be available for free, unlike the other options.
