Real Madrid will have a lot of changes next season within the squad as club legends Toni Kroos and Nacho Fernandez will no longer be there. In fact, the two are officially no longer Real Madrid players, as Kroos and Nacho's contracts with the Spanish club have expired. Kroos will retire from professional football as soon as his EUROS with Germany is over, and Nacho will play for the Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah. Other departures are expected, and while Joselu is also another name that has been confirmed to leave Real Madrid, another player is set to leave this summer. Mario Cortegana from The Atheltic reports that Dani Ceballos wants to leave Real Madrid this summer, and the club is aware. If he leaves, Mario Martin or Nico Paz will be promoted to the first team. No signings will be made. Other players like Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler will be used as midiflers next season in order for the club to not look for the midfielder in the transfer market.

The report from The Athletic also suggests that Real Madrid will not easily give Dani Ceballos away even though he wants to leave. Some clubs are interested, but Real Madrid believes his salary is not affordable for several Spanish clubs. Ceballos has played for Real Betis in the past and is one of the clubs that are interested in signing him this summer. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is worth to be around $6 million and he is currently 27 years old.

Dani Ceballos played a total of 27 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions. He scored one goal and provided two assists for Real Madrid this past season. He played some of the fewest amount of minutes for the team this past season as the overall time period he played across all competitions is 881 minutes.

The issue with this is that there are concerns in Nico Paz's camp as well. According to MARCA, Nico Paz is studying his situation. He has doubts about staying at Real Madrid. He is aware that he will not be with the first team on a regular basis. Clubs such as Leganes have called.

Dani Ceballos's career at Real Madrid

Ceballos joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2017 from Real Betis for more than $17 million. Ceballos signed for Real Betis, which is his boyhood club and his first professional club. The Spanish midfielder struggled to get minutes in an already stacked team at Real Madrid, so he was loaned out to Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and lasted there for two seasons. He returned to the club in the summer of 2021 and has since extended his contract until the summer of 2027. He was given more minutes after his loan at Arsenal, where he was a key player in the Premier League side who struggled to qualify for the Champions League during his time there.
