FC Barcelona is not happy with the highly potential arrival of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid as their rivals will have one of the best players in the world, but there is also another concern. According to Sport, Barcelona is not happy with the “Mbappé law,” a tax measure benefiting foreigners who arrive in the city of Madrid. Barça fears growing inequality and questions the influence of Florentino Pérez in this initiative. The players find it easier and more reliable to join the Madrid clubs Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid over FC Barcelona and other clubs in La Liga due to this new rule that is yet to be fully processed.

Sport reports that this rule will make it very difficult for Barcelona to compete for major signings with state-owned clubs Manchester City and PSG, but consider that Real Madrid has been acting like one as well. Sport explains that in Spain, personal income tax is paid in two different tranches: national and autonomous. The "national tranche for incomes higher than 300k euros per is 24.5%, and the autonomous region of Madrid is 20.5%. In total, a high income in the Community of Madrid must pay 45% of its income." The law would deduct 20% of the autonomous section, which eliminates most of it for those who meet the requirements.

For this reason, players like Mbappé will benefit from playing in Madrid, and Barcelona will struggle to sign major players like that in the near future if the law is passed. The "Mbappé law" is still in process, and it has to be approved by the Governing Council and the Assembly of Madrid. If passed, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will become more attractive than FC Barcelona for foreign and Spanish players.

Kylian Mbappé's salary will be over Vinicius Jr.'s salary

Although Mbappé will join Real Madrid for free and no fee is needed to pay PSG, the club will still offer him high wages, which will be more than Vinicius Jr. Mbappé could be earning a base salary of around $26 million a year, and the player will also receive a signing fee from the Spanish club worth over $100 million. The club plans to pay it across the next five seasons.
