Neymar and Ronaldinho are two of the greatest Brazilian players of all time, but controversy has followed them over the tears. The two have been involved in parties during their careers, which has led to heavy criticism of the two for their unprofessionalism. Another Brazilian player showed potential a few years ago, but now he looks to overtake Neymar and Ronaldinho when it comes to having parties, as he reportedly planned a party that lasted 48 hours. That player is Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo, most commonly known as Gabigol. The party reportedly included 12 of Gabigol’s friends and 80 women, and most of them were hired as ‘VIP presences’. This becomes another huge scandal for Gabigol’s career as he already faced a couple of issues over the last years. Flamengo is reportedly considering sanctioning him for this party he organized.
The party reportedly turned violent at the end as multiple fights broke out. The incident is a big damage to his character as Flamengo could either sanction him or get rid of him from the club. Gabigol is 27 years old and faced a two year suspension from football after a failed doping test, which was then revoked. The party occurred after a Flamengo 6-1 win against Vasco da Gama. Another controversial action he took was wearing the Corinthians shirt despite being a Flamengo player; Corinthians are rivals with Flamengo.
Flamengo is first in the Brazilian Serie A season after seven games played. They are on 14 points after seven league matches played, as their record is four wins, two draws, and one loss. Gabigol has three goals for Flamengo this year after 13 matches across all competitions. Last year, after 56 matches played across all competitions, he scored 18 goals and provided two assists.
Gabigol has faced an embarrassing moment a few months ago with Netflix. According to Globo Sport, Netflix has approached top strikers to make a documentary on the “art of goalscoring.” Gabigol reached out to the team; however, he received no response and no longer has access to his Netflix account.
