Neymar (Super Sport)

Neymar once again had physical problems and his return to the field will be in January 2025. The Brazilian will earn 100 million dollars without playing a single game with Al Hilal for eleven months.

Neymar is one of those players who will always remain in the mind as one of those who could do more in the world of football, he was called the heir of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and the next to win a Ballon d'Or after the two most greats in history but this never materialized.

Neymar was always involved in scandals, he was not a 100% professional and that life of excesses and parties meant that he never managed to become that player that everyone expected, he was even called the last heir of the beautiful game but everything remained a promise.

Now it was learned that people in Saudi Arabia will have to wait even longer, he has already been injured for 11 months and it was learned that they will only have to see him play again in January 2025, that is, Neymar will be off the field for almost 15 months.

Neymar was one of the highest paid players in the Saudi League, he earns 100 million for each year of his contract and in his first year he will earn this figure with only five games played, three assists and one goal, a very bad deal for Al Hilal because you have to pay him every penny.

How many injuries has Neymar had?

1. Back injury - 2014 World Cup

One of Neymar's most memorable injuries occurred during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. In the quarterfinals against Colombia, he received a strong knee in the back from Juan Camilo Zúñiga, which resulted in a fractured vertebra. This injury ruled him out of the rest of the tournament, and Brazil was eliminated in the semi-final in a historic 7-1 loss to Germany.

2. Foot injuries - PSG

Neymar has had several episodes of foot injuries since his arrival at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2017. In February 2018, he suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, which forced him to miss the final phase of the season, including the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.

In January 2019, he suffered a relapse on the same foot again, which kept him out for several months. These recurring metatarsal injuries have been a constant concern in the Brazilian's career.

3. Ankle injury

Neymar has also faced recurring ankle problems. In June 2019, during a friendly match with Brazil against Qatar before the Copa América, he suffered a severe sprain to his right ankle that ruled him out of the entire tournament. Years later, in November 2021, he injured his ankle again, this time playing for PSG, which sidelined him for several weeks.

4. Muscle problems

Apart from his bone and joint injuries, Neymar has also suffered muscle injuries that have caused him to miss important games. During the 2020-2021 season, the Brazilian missed several league and Champions League matches due to muscle problems in his left leg.

5. Injury in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup

On October 17, 2023, in the match between Uruguay and Brazil, Neymar suffered an injury that has kept him away from football for almost a year.
