Manchester United could potentially have a new manager next season despite the team winning the FA Cup under Erik Ten Hag. The club and the fans may have outgrown their patience with the Dutch manager, and now many names have been linked to become the next Manchester United manager. Top candidates like Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino have been linked to the club for next season, but now another coach is a real candidate ahead of Zidane and Pochettino. Jamie Jackson reports that Manchester United have sounded out Roberto De Zerbi about becoming their new manager. Erik Ten Hag is likely to be sacked despite winning the FA Cup. The Italian manager has left Brighton and Hove Albion and could be offered around $10 million a year if he joins Manchester United this summer. De Zerbi has also been rumored to coach other clubs like Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

The Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has been impressed by Roberto De Zerbi’s attractive possession-based style of play at Brighton. He has been contacted by Manchester United with regard to succeeding Erik Ten Hag. Some fans are unsure whether to sack Ten Hag this summer after winning two trophies in his first two seasons.

Before Manchester United starts thinking about bringing De Zerbi to the club, there will be an analysis of Ten Hag’s tenure at the club. Fabrizio Romano reports that a Man United internal review is starting today. They will discuss many things, including the injury situation, the transfer market, and, crucially, the manager position. Ten Hag is waiting for the outcome and is convinced that he is the best man for the job. Ten Hag joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Ajax and his contract ends in 2026.
