Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are easily labeled the greatest footballers of all time, and their prime was definitely in La Liga, where each of them represented the biggest clubs in the world. Ronaldo is arguably the biggest legend in Real Madrid's history, while Messi is the biggest legend in FC Barcelona's history. Despite being some of the biggest legends in La Liga history, none of them are given or will be given a specific role that the La Liga president is offering Vinicius Jr. La Liga president Javier Tebas spoke about Vinicius Jr. and his fight against racism, which he, unfortunately, has faced int eh Spanish league with Real Madrid. Tebas is offering the Brazilian star a specific role in La Liga in the future when the player retires. Tebas said, "Vinicius receives racist insults because he is a leader against the fight for racism. When he retires, we will offer him a chance to be a La Liga ambassador."

Tebas has spoken about Vinicius's issues with racism in the league, and he has defended him. The La Liga president said, "Vinicius is the victim here. The problem he has is that when someone leads in such a strong way against racism, they are usually a target. This is why not all black players in Spain have been attacked the same way he has.”

A couple of weeks ago, the news broke out in Spain that three Valencia fans have been jailed for eight months for abusing Vinicius Jr. during a La Liga game in May 2023. This is the first criminal conviction for racist abuse of a footballer in Spain in the country's history. The Brazilian player has been strong in the fight against racism, and it was a good step to stop more incidents.

Vinicius Jr. on the ruling against racist fans

After the news broke that three Valencia fans were arrested and sentenced to jail, Vinicius wrote on social media how he felt about the ruling. Vinicius wrote, "Many asked me to ignore it, many others said that my fight was in vain and that I should just 'play football'. But, as I've always said, I'm not a victim of racism. I am a tormentor of racists. This first criminal conviction in the history of Spain is not for me. It's for all black people. May other racists be afraid, ashamed and hide in the shadows. Otherwise, I'll be here to collect. Thank you to La Liga and Real Madrid for helping with this historic conviction. More to come."
