Inter Miami feels on top of the MLS for signing Lionel Messi last summer and slowly building the strongest team in the United States. Inter Miami also brought Messi’s former teammates at FC Barcelona: Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez. Now, Beckham and Inter Miami are looking for new free agents with a lot of European experience. One player who will soon become a free agent is Keylor Navas. The Costa Rican keeper recently announced that he would be leaving PSG since his contract with the French club expires this summer, and it won’t be renewed. He is a three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid from 2016 to 2018 under Zinedine Zidane. Navas also won four FIFA Club World Cups, one La Liga trophy, three UEFA Super Cups, and one Spanish Super Cup.

Navas joined PSG from Real Madrid in 2019 for more than $15 million and has been very successful domestically in France. Navas, with PSG, won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe De France trophies, one French League Cup, and three French Super Cups. Navas wrote his goodbyes to PSG on Instagram by saying, “Every second I have enjoyed in Parc des Princes has been wonderful. Thank God I have always felt his love and encouragement. It has been an honor to defend this shield in this incredible stadium. There are goals ahead, but I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to say goodbye to what has been my home.”

Who would Keylor Navas replace at Inter Miami?

Inter Miami’s main goalkeeper is Drake Callender, and the American goalie showcased good performances in the 2023 League Cup. Since then, some fans have suggested that it would be a good idea to bring in an experienced high-level keeper like Navas. In 14 MLS matches, Callender has kept four clean sheets and saved one out of three penalties against him so far this season. Navas only played four Ligue 1 matches this season, during which time he kept one clean sheet. Navas is also a former teammate of Messi, who was together at PSG.
