Real Madrid has made their squad even better with the signing of Kylian Mbappé. The French star has been one of the best players in the world for the past couple of years, and what is most impressive about Los Blancos signing him is that he was a free agent. Real Madrid did not pay a huge transfer fee to sign him, but it will repeatedly pay the player a signing bonus of more than $150 million over the next five years.

Although Mbappé signed as a free agent, the question many were asking was how Real Madrid was set to offer him a base salary. At Paris Saint Germain, Mbappé was the best-paid player in Europe, but he would not earn as much at Real Madrid as he did at PSG.

90 Min reports that Mbappé will be earning a base salary of more than $32 million a year at Real Madrid. He will earn the most at Real Madrid, but he will not be the best-paid player in La Liga, as two FC Barcelona players will earn more. Robert Lewandowski reportedly will earn a base salary of $34 million a year, but the player that earns the most in La Liga is Frenkie De Jong. He reportedly earns a salary of $38 million.

FC Barcelona has faced lots of challenges with its finances these past couple of years, and overpaying players via their salaries is one of the issues. Mbappé earned nearly over $80 million per season at Paris Saint Germain but agreed to reduce his salary to join Real Madrid this summer. Lewandowski and De Jong are among the most important players in the FC Barcelona squad.

Lewandowski arrived two summers ago, and De Jong arrived in 2019. FC Barcelona is close to resolving its financial issues, and selling either player would help it even more. The Polish striker seems set to stay for another season at the club, while De Jong is rumored to be sold by the club.

Frenkie De Jong is currently injured, and it is unknown when he will fully return to the pitch for Barcelona. Mbappé is seen as the face of La Liga since his status in football is huge compared to that of players like Lewandowski and De Jong right now.

Which Real Madrid players are close to earning Kylian Mbappé’s salary?

The second top earner at Real Madrid is David Alaba, who earns around $23 million a year. Vinicius Jr. earns around $21 million a year, while Jude Bellingham earns around $19 million a year. Federico Valverde earns $15 million, while Thibaut Courtois. These Real Madrid players made the top 10 earns in La Liga.

Real Madrid offered Mbappé a much bigger salary in the past, but the French star decided to stay at PSG for longer. Real Madrid fans believed that Mbappé would not arrive at Los Blancos anymore because of his commitment at PSG, but now, with his arrival, Real Madrid has made it clear that he will have to listen to them.

Los Blancos did not offer him the same salary they offered before, but Mbappé did not care and just wanted to join the club of his dreams. Even with a reduced proposed salary, he is now the most-paid player on the squad.
