Kylian Mbappé looks closer than ever to joining Real Madrid, especially after his announcement of leaving PSG's after the end of the season. While Mbappé looks close to signing a contract to join Real Madrid next season, a French legend recommends that he go elsewhere. Marcel Desailly spoke about Mbappé's future and said, "I'm not sure Madrid is the perfect place for him to be. Vinicius is on the left side, we have great players who are showing great ability as Bellingham. He's not going to be full number one the way he wants. He should go to Saudi Arabia and get €350M one season there and then come back next season, the year of the World Cup."

Mbappé was close to moving to Saudi Arabia last summer at the start of this season as PSG was trying to negotiate a contract extension with the French player. Mbappé did not agree with a new contract as the French club knew it would expire this summer. With Mbappé not agreeing, PSG prevented him from playing with the first team, and the club was willing to not let him play until he agreed on a new contract. This was when Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal was willing to offer Mbappé and PSG huge amounts of money to let the player join the Saudi Pro League for one season.

According to the Athletic, the offer from Al Hilal was around $330 million for PSG as the transfer fee, and they were reportedly offering $770 million for Mbappé in wages. The lucrative deal seemed intriguing for PSG as they would receive lots of money and they wouldn't let Mbappé leave the club on a free to Real Madrid. It didn't happen as Mbappé rejected it and promised via a letter to PSG that he would extend his contract.

PSG's future after Mbappé leaves the club

After PSG was eliminated from the Champions League, the PSG chairman, Al Khelaifi, reacted to the elimination from the tournament once again. He said, "We are very, very disappointed with the result. Sad, of course, but I think we deserved better tonight. The players, the coach, we gave everything. The supporters, honestly… fantastic. We are building a long-term project with the youngest squad in Europe; the future will be bright. We will keep going."
