Kylian Mbappé had a serious nose injury during the France vs Austria game in EURO 2024 yesterday. The French star tried heading the ball into the box, but instead, his head hit the shoulder of Austrian defender Kevin Danso. Mbappé was bleeding a lot and tried to continue playing, but he was subbed off and went straight to the hospital in Düsseldorf. Many assumed that his EURO campaign was over, but he would still be playing in the tournament, but not for long. After the match, many reports suggest that Mbappé will be playing the rest of the EUROS with a mask to protect his nose. Canal Plus Foot confirms that Mbappé will miss the next game for France, which is against the Netherlands on Friday. Nothing is confirmed yet, but he could also miss the match against Poland, which is the last group-stage match for France. That game will be next week on June 25th.

The French Federation released a late statement about Mbappé's injury, confirming that the player would not get surgery, which could've ruled him out for the rest of EURO 2024. It read, "Kylian Mbappé returns to the base camp of the French national team. Kylian Mbappé suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France held this Monday in Düsseldorf. The captain of France was treated first by the medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed him with a nose fracture. Mbappé will receive treatment in the next few days, but he will not undergo surgery in the immediate future”.

They also confirmed the mask he will wear for the rest of the tournament, and it said, "A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to the competition after a period dedicated to treatment."
