Liverpool's interest in Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong has cooled, despite the Dutch full-back's impressive performances in the Bundesliga. While the Reds were initially keen on the 24-year-old, a number of factors have contributed to a change in their transfer plans.

One of the primary reasons for Liverpool's cooled interest lies in the club's tactical setup under manager Arne Slot. Slot, known for his possession-based style of play, prefers a traditional full-back in a four-man defense. Frimpong, while undoubtedly talented, is more of an attacking wing-back, often overlapping with the winger. This stylistic mismatch has made it difficult for Liverpool to see how the Dutchman would fit into their current system.

Furthermore, the emergence of other full-back options within the Liverpool squad has also played a role in the decision to pursue other targets the Reds feel they have sufficient depth at the position.

While Liverpool may have moved on from Frimpong, the talented defender is still attracting significant interest from other clubs. Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal have reportedly made a substantial offer of €60 million for the player, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season. Frimpong's attacking flair and versatility make him an appealing option for Jorge Jesus' side, who are keen to add more attacking threat to their team.
