Liverpool and football fans were shocked to hear Jurgen Klopp announce that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Klopp has been at the club for nine years and is set to leave this summer. Liverpool is in a hurry to find a new manager, but the club first wants the right man to choose the right manager for the team. Fenway Sports Group [FSG], owners of Liverpool FC, are looking to bring back an old club member who has impacted the club like Jurgen Klopp.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Paul Joyce from The Times, Liverpool owners want to give one last try to bring Michael Edwards back to the club. Michael Edwards has been involved in signing important players for the club, like Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk. Edwards has currently shown no sign of saying yes, but Liverpool will try again. Edwards was wanted by Liverpool when Klopp announced his decision to leave, and their former sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, left the club last month.
FSG wants the new structure to be decided as soon as possible; it won’t take long. The final attempt for Michael Edwards is to get an answer soon, or they will move on in March. FSG has realized that the profile of the sporting director that they’re looking for has changed. Previously, they were looking for someone to facilitate Klopp’s needs, but now there is a demand for someone to take charge of the whole club.
FSG wants Edwards to take over football and put a new structure in place, including a new sporting director. Michael Edwards reportedly wants full control over Liverpool's football operations to consider a return. FSG is ready to put Michael Edwards in charge of the club in an attempt to lure him back.

Edwards is responsible for creating Klopp's successful team at Liverpool in the past couple of years. Edwards signed Mo Salah and Sadio Mane for around $42 million each. Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho for around $179 million and used that money to bring in Van Dijk for $95 and Alisson Becker for $84 million. He also brought in Fabinho, Andy Robertson, Jota, Luis Diaz, and Joel Matip.
