Gabriel Jesus' future at Arsenal has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with rumors linking the Brazilian striker to a potential return to Palmeiras.

Since his move to the Premier League, Jesus has struggled to consistently find the back of the net for the Gunners. With just one goal in 18 appearances this season, questions have been raised about his future at the club.

Amidst the speculation, Palmeiras, the club where Jesus began his career, have been linked with a move to bring their former star back to Brazil. However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has poured cold water on those rumors.

Jesus to stay at Arsenal, insists Arteta

Speaking to the media, Arteta expressed his confidence in Jesus and dismissed the idea of a January transfer. "All strikers go through periods and moments," Arteta said. "This period (for Gabriel) has been big. A lot of things have happened, like injuries. But his attitude has been really good, always. We will try to help him overcome this situation as quickly as possible."

When asked directly about the possibility of Jesus returning to Brazil in January, Arteta was firm in his response. "It doesn't make sense," he stated.

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has also addressed the rumors, confirming that the club had made inquiries about Jesus but had been rebuffed by Arsenal. "Gabriel Jesus is not coming. We contacted Arsenal, and they said: 'Leila, there is no condition at all. We are not going to negotiate the player.' It ended the matter," Pereira said in an interview with 'O Globo.'

Despite the recent struggles, it appears that Arsenal are committed to keeping Jesus at the club and helping him rediscover his best form. With the January transfer window now closed, all eyes will be on the Brazilian striker as he looks to turn his season around.
