The Summer Olympics in Paris are here, and the opening ceremony will take place this Friday, July 26. Unlike other past summer Olympic games, this year's games won't be held in a stadium. It will take place on a series of parade floats that will lead through the French capital, Paris, on the Seine River. This is the first time that the opening ceremony of a Summer Olympics has not been held in a stadium.
The opening ceremony will be special as always as all the athletes from the many countries that are being represented will be there. Not only will they be presented but celebrities as well. American rapper Snoop Dogg will carry the Olympic Torch at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Snoop Dogg, 52, will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, which is near the Stade de France Olympic Stadium.
The town mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, confirmed that Snoop Dogg will be in attendance as he wrote on X, "Saint-Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast Snoop Dogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame." Salma Hayek will also be at the opening ceremony and arrived in France yesterday. She already did the duty of carrying the torch through the iconic palace that serves as the main residence for three kings of France, the Château de Versailles.
Big sports will be played during the Summer Olympics, and one of the most exciting ones is the football tournament. The Summer Olympics has seen some star players play in his competition in the past, like a young Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Aguero, and Angel Di Maria.
Some of the most exciting young national teams in the competition are Argentina, France, the United States, Spain, Japan, and Morocco. Some star players are included in this tournament, such as Julian Alvarez, Nicolas Otamendi, Archaf Hakimi, Michael Olise, Alexandre Lacazette, and more.
Argentina U23 made their debut against Morocco U23 in Group B of the Summer Olympics. Morocco were beating Argentina 2-0 after a brace from Soufiane Rahimi. Argentina scored one back as Guiliano Simeone made it 2-1. Late in the game, Argentina equalized to make it 2-2, but the game was suspended for more than an hour. The goal didn't count, and Morocco defeated them 2-1.
