Dani Carvajal's injury has left Real Madrid in a critical defensive situation. With only six available defenders, including Éder Militão, who is dealing with physical discomfort, and Nacho Fernández, who isn't at 100%, Carlo Ancelotti is being forced to improvise and overwork his players.

Faced with this scenario, Real Madrid is considering intervening in the winter transfer market to reinforce their defense. One of the most viable options is to expedite the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool's right-back, with whom Real Madrid already had an agreement for a summer move.

Alexander-Arnold’s Contract with Liverpool

The England international's contract with Liverpool expires on June 30, and he has decided not to renew, opening negotiations with Real Madrid for a free transfer in the summer. However, the urgency of the current situation could push Real Madrid to attempt to finalize the transfer in January, offering compensation to Liverpool for the remaining months of his contract.

Real Madrid May Pursue Alexander-Arnold

Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, is generally reluctant to make signings during the winter transfer window, but the seriousness of the situation may force him to reconsider. The lack of defensive options puts the season's goals at risk, and Pérez is unwilling to jeopardize any potential titles.

  • Carvajal's injury leaves Real Madrid with limited defensive options.
  • The club may accelerate the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
  • Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool ends in June, and he was already in talks with Real Madrid.
  • Florentino Pérez may be forced to alter his transfer policy due to the current crisis.
