Spain won the European Championship last week against England in Berlin, Germany at the Olympiastadion. The Spanish were easily the best team in the tournament and won all seven matches they played in the EUROS. Spain defeated England 2-1 with goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Names like Williams, Lamine Yamal, and Dani Olmo were praised for their performances at the EUROS, but another name that many did not expect to have an incredible summer was Marc Cucurella. The left-back was one of the best players on the team, and now he has accepted the challenge that he had promised to do after winning the EUROS with Spain.

Cucurella dyed his hair red after winning the EUROS win and he posted it on his social media. He wrote, “What is promised is a debt.” The Spanish fullback posed the red hair he has with the Spanish jersey he wore during the EUROS.

Cucurella was not expected to start for Spain during the EUROS, but Luis De La Fuente, the manager of Spain, chose him for six out of the seven matches Spain played in Germany. He started in those six matches he played in under De La Fuente and earned himself great recognition.

Cucurella was part of the EURO 2024 Team of the Tournament. He was among six Spanish players in the starting 11 of the team. The other Spanish players in the starting 11 were Dani Olmo, Fabian Ruiz, Rodri, Lamine Yamal, and Nico Williams. It will be an unforgettable tournament for Cucurella and Spain since they are the first team to win seven straight games at the European Championship. He provided the assist for Oyarzabal’s goal in the EUROS final against England.

What is next for Marc Cucurella?

Cucurella and most Spanish players from the national team are on vacation after their epic win last weekend. The Spanish left back will then reunite with his Chelsea teammates ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. Chelsea’s season begins on August 18th when they take on Manchester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
