The Spanish winger shone with Spain in the EUROS, and they advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition. Yamal provided an assist in Spain's 4-1 win against Georgia in the Round of 16. the assist breaks a record that Cristiano Ronaldo had for many years. Lamine Yamal is the first European teenager to have multiple assists at a major tournament since Cristiano Ronaldo had two assists for Portugal in Euro 2004. This assist for Yamal is also his second for the tournament so far, and it is the most out of any player in the year's competition. He is tied with five other players, including his teammate in the national team, Fabian Ruiz. The 16-year-old hopes to continue breaking records this tournament as a goal from him will make him the youngest ever player to score in EURO history. Spain needs to win two more games to reach the EURO final in Berlin on July 14th, but their next opponent will be very difficult.

Spain was trailing 1-0 in the first half to Georgia after an own goal arrived in the 18th minute by Spain defender Le Normand. In the 39th minute, Rodri scored the equalizer from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 just before halftime. Yamal grabbed an assist as he curled a perfect ball to Fabian Ruiz in the box, who headed the ball past Giorgi Mamardashvili.

In the 75th minute, Nico Williams scored an amazing goal as he got past the Georgian defender and slotted the ball into the net to make it 3-1. In the 83rd minute, Dani Olmo scored Spain's fourth goal of the night to make it 4-1 and seal their quarterfinal ticket. Spain will play Germany on Friday in the quarterfinals, which, to some, is an early final as the two are favorites to win this competition.
