Manchester United went two games without a win in the Premier League after the international break as they lost 4-3 against Chelsea away from home in dramatic fashion. Manchester United were behind by two, but they quickly evened things out in the first half. Man United took the lead in the second half to complete a comeback, but Cole Palmer scored two Chelsea goals and gave the home side the win against Ten Hag's men. The dream of getting Champions League football next season becomes more difficult as they are 11 points behind Aston Villa, who are 4th on the table. Erik Ten Hag spoke after the game and even though he was disappointed about the loss, he justifies his team for the performance.

Ten Hag spoke after the match, and he gave his reaction to the result. Ten Hag said, "First I have to deal with this [loss against Chelsea], we have to recover quickly and turn this around, so from tomorrow [Friday] on, we will be in a positive mood, we will look forward, and you can take a lot of energy from mad and angry and that is the way we have to do it. Definitely a setback and now we have to deal with this and get up - we are resilient and you have seen that today."
The Dutch manager was talking about the top four as the target and said, "I don't know [if the top four is gone]. I have to see again the ranking. Points will be more expensive. It's very disappointing we're doing this and making the wrong decisions. We gave away a game we should have won. As a team we should deal with this."
